NetZeroCities helps Europe — and especially its cities — significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions through targeted climate action, aiming to achieve climate neutrality, one of the greatest challenges facing society today.

The project is part of the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme that supports the European Union’s Green Deal. It is designed to help cities break through the structural, institutional, and cultural barriers that hinder their progress toward achieving climate neutrality by 2030.

NetZeroCities supports the EU’s Mission “100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030,” launched under the Horizon Europe programme. The initiative operates as a service-based platform backed by leading experts, offering European cities the tools, guidance, and solutions needed to reach climate neutrality in a socially inclusive manner.
