Friends of the Earth Cyprus is an environmental organisation dedicated to social and environmental justice, community empowerment and systemic change. Through campaigns, advocacy, education and grassroots mobilisation, the organisation works to address some of Cyprus’ most pressing challenges: waste reduction, climate justice, sustainable food systems, biodiversity protection and the shift toward renewable energy. Our work combines policy engagement with hands-on community initiatives, such as school workshops, neighbourhood actions, and citizen-led environmental monitoring, ensuring that people remain at the centre of environmental decision-making. As part of Friends of the Earth International, the world’s largest grassroots environmental federation, we bring global experience to local struggles, while amplifying Cypriot voices in European and international processes. Our vision is a fair, sustainable and resilient future where communities thrive, ecosystems recover, and people have both the power and the space to shape the environmental policies that impact their lives.
