Athanasios Pallis is Professor & holder of the Jean Monnet Chair (European Port Policy) at the Department of Maritime Studies, University of Piraeus, Greece. He is founder & co-director of PortEconomics, the Vice Chair of the Port Performance Research Network (PPRN), and Senior Scientific Advisor to the Florence School of Regulation, European University Institute. In 2025, he was included in the 2% of the world’s most cited researchers in transport & logistics.
