MedCities is a network of Mediterranean cities and metropolitan areas, established in 1991 in Barcelona. It’s a network that supports environmental protection from a local perspective. In 2017, the network became a fully independent organization and now brings together 91 local authorities from all shores of the Mediterranean basin. MedCities promotes urban sustainable development, social cohesion, environmental protection and strategic city planning in the region.
