Dr. Loukas Dimitriou is Associate Professor of Transportation Planning and Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cyprus, where he also serves as the Founder and Head of the Lab for Transport Engineering. His research focuses on mobility modelling, transportation systems analysis, and the optimal design and management of complex multimodal transport systems. His work spans a wide range of application areas, from urban mobility and public transport systems to freight logistics and long-distance transport networks. Dr. Dimitriou actively contributes to national and international research fora and policy bodies in the field of transport and mobility. He has an extensive publication record in leading international journals and conferences. His research has attracted significant competitive funding (Horizon, InterregMED, etc.), and he has led major national strategic projects, including Cyprus’ transit system appraisal and the Master Plan for the Municipalities of Limassol.
